So I met my soul mate, why is my life falling apart?

If you have had the privilege of meeting ‘the one’, you are indeed blessed beyond words. And for those who have yet to bump into your beloved, hold your horses, they are on their way. I say that meeting your soul mate is a blessing beyond words because it is. It’s an opportunity to feel the rapture of love and to finally step into the man or woman that you were intended to be.

There is so much garbage written and portrayed out here about soul mates that when one encounters this energy and when real freaky scary, life altering stuff happens, not only are we confused, we find ourselves cursing the day we set eyes on them. We have been told that once the love of our lives enters the picture, we can then spend the rest of our days in sexual bliss, obvious to the cruel world around us. Nope, I seem to always be the one to break the bad news to everyone, but the truth shall make us all free, and here is the truth.

If you have connected with your Divine counterpart, nine times out of ten, you have earned this connection, you and your beloved has showed enough devotion to your spiritual growth and reached a vibrational pitch signaling not only the magnetic pull towards each other, but also altering your Higher Self that you are ready to enter a higher path of spiritual enlightenment. See this connection is not all about romance, baby making and long strolls on beautiful beaches, it encompasses this, but oh, it is so much more.

Let me set the record straight, this is first and foremost a DIVINE CONNECTION, not a Hollywood fairytale. It feels as though you have connected with something or someone truly magnificent outside of yourself, and you have, in a way, but let’s not forget, that all roads lead ‘home’; home is our Divine Connection with Source energy, and the road you are now taking is Soul Mate Road. There are many roads home, but you signed up for this one.So although you feel the bliss of love with your beloved, this is not the time to take your eyes off of your spiritual growth, actually, coming into this connection will accelerate your growth.

Balancing

This connection with your beloved does some amazing things like open the heart chakra allowing you to feel love like never before; It also opens the third eye and crown chakra enabling you to have access to higher intelligence and telepathic communications. But most importantly, this energy opens you up to your Higher Self. Now once you connect with the Higher Self, oh boy, hold on because the ride is going to be bumpy for a while.

See, your higher Self has only one concern and that is for you to stay in alignment with you. Some of us truly believe that we are being as real as we can, but in truth we are not. We are all out of balance energetic-wise and we are all carrying dysfunctional beliefs about what love and loving is.

To truly be a fully functioning, fully integrated human being having a spiritual experience, we must become balanced with both our masculine and feminine energy. We hold within us both energies, but rarely do we take full advantage of these energies, resulting in men and women, so ignorant and out of touch with each other, that we cannot help but to create dysfunctional mayhem. The masculine and feminine energies together create a whole healthy human. When these energies are balanced with an individual, you have a male or female that can respond to life with reverence and appropriateness. This individual can seamlessly and unabashedly shift between his or her logic and intuition to address inner and outer situations. But thus far we have a globe full of men and women that are addicted to one energy, men relying solely on their masculine energy, and women relying on their feminine energy. This is wrong, and it does not flow with nature one bit!

This out of balance relationships with our energy creates not only a serious misalignment within us; it creates a very sick and parasitic dependency on the opposite sex. See, if the female who rely basically on her feminine energy, in time she will come to believe that she need a ‘man’ to take up the slack of her underdeveloped masculine energy; this dynamic not only diminishes her creative forces, self expression and feelings of empowerments, it will, without fail, set her up to be victimized.

What about the chaos I am experiencing?

The chaos that you believe you are experiencing is not chaos at all. I have some client’s loss their jobs, good health and close relationships since entering their soul mate energy; why is this? As stated time and time again, soul mates that are coming together have very important work to do, as the planet shifts into a higher frequency, not only will soul mates serve humanity as light workers and way showers, they will also come together as templates for how a balanced relationship is suppose to function. A template that is void of parasitic elements of the relationships of the past.

The chaos begins to occur when one does not understand that the Higher Self is now in full control at this point. The Highest Self main job is to bring you back to the natural order of living, and that is to assist you in balancing your masculine and feminine energy. Your Higher Self will work directly with the Universal Law of Attraction, bringing into our experiences that will help you to correct your energy misalignment.

So what does this look like? It looks different for every individual, but generally, for a male that is not accustomed to tapping into his heart-centered energy to make decisions, the Higher self will continuously bring into his experiences opportunities for him to act from that place, he may even have to make the choice of giving up his worldly comforts so that he can enter into a loving, spiritual bond with his soul mate. This is a challenge for a man that uses his logic and physical being in all his affairs, he must learn to trust love and the wisdom of the heart, we must learn to befriend his feminine energy.

For a woman who is used to only acting from the feminine energy, she may be challenged by having situations that come her way, one after another, that will force her to be less dependent on the ‘man’ as her source of strength and security, she will come into her masculine energy where she will be less likely to use manipulative tactic of the past to feel secure, she will have that security within.

The chaos that one feels is actually an opportunity for you to create a new foundation for your life. A foundation that will bring together you and your beloved in a harmonious union and it takes time, shifting and letting go of things in our lives that forces us to act out of balance energetically. We must learn how to use every part of our being to rebuild the new. This is undoubtedly a challenge for men who don’t want to give up the ‘manly man’ image, and the women who are afraid of ‘looking like a man’. There will be a period of excruciating loses and decision making, until soul mates get to the point of true surrender and bring themselves back to the truth of this Divine connection, and that is enlightenment.

We must be ready to be challenged far pass our dysfunctional concepts of how a man and a woman are suppose to function. We must look beyond the loss of worldly possessions and see the wisdom of this energy alignment, and know that Iwe have the courage to follow through on our own enlightenment, the power of Unconditional Love will indeed see us through.

Soul Mates, the Alchemist of Love

The rules of love and relationships are flipped inside out once you enter the soul mate energy. No one tells soul mates, ‘look, close your eyes to the junk of the world, you are now entering the wonderful wacky world of manifestation.’ Now as spirit walkers, we already had some lessons on creation, energy, intentions and perhaps a few crash courses on quantum physics, but our learning had been constantly weighed down with the third dimensional debris of scarcity, victimhood, competition and manipulation.

Soul mates are bestowed some very powerful gifts that can empower their purpose and destiny. Mates are learning to maneuver their energy from the causal realm, raising their vibration by shifting their consciousness. We are ‘seeing’ right before our very eyes our intuitive abilities awakening our spiritual senses; our healing abilities reverberate swiftly to those we affect. We are becoming fluent energy readers and connecting deeply with the energy of our chakras. Some mates are astrotraveling and connecting to non physical beings of higher intelligence. If soul mates approach this connection with merely the goal of romantic love in mind, they are missing the true purpose and walking blindly pass the doors of destiny.

Why are soul mates experiencing these higher dimensional goodies, you may ask? I’ll tell you what has been revealed to me. The soul mates that are coming together now have a specific purpose, and that is to create unions or relationships of higher vibration. As the old relationship format crumbles, the soul mates of the new generation will be there to turn its dust into gold. We are taking our cues on just how to transform the old into the new by Spirit. Above all planetary goals and desires, once mates come into this energy, nothing becomes more poignant than creating the new format for ‘love making’.

The soul mate connection and its energy of unconditional love makes alchemist out of us. We first learn to go within to transmute our personal pain. And as we do, we find our energy lightening up and our wisdom deepening. Then we are able to turn our healing and empowerment vibration outward, so that our mere presence will have the ability to raise the vibrational frequency wherever we go. This frequency become a fragrant aroma for those that get a whiff, it becomes the cornerstone of new relations.

Soul mates have some very powerful energy at their disposal and its important that we learn to recognize, honor and disseminate this energy as it was intended. At first blush, it feels like ‘damn, what am i suppose to do with all this?’ It feels like a heavy responsibility that we fear we cannot possibly shoulder, but in truth, we have the exact experiences and spiritual alertness to accomplish this highly sacred agenda. So in conclusion I say, trust the process. Continue to do the emotional clearing work necessary to bring your spirit to a heightened alertness. Love and desire your mates, but don’t stop there, you all are first and foremost ‘soldiers of love’ so when duty calls be prepared to stand front and center Blessings to you all!

WHY SOUL MATES HAVE STRONG TELEPATHIC CONNECTIONS

No, you are not crazy, you are ascending, and apart of the ‘Ascension Package’ is the purification and quickening of our Spiritual gifts such as our healing capacities, psychic and intuitive abilities and telepathic communications. And the moment that you and your Soul Mates connect on a spiritual level, during the ‘Acquaintance of the Spirit’ period, the both of you will have a direct route to each other’s spiritual, emotional and physical bodies. Yikes, right, no, it’s actually demonstrates the sheer brilliance of Spirit, and here’s why.

The spoken word is a product of third dimensional creation. The spoken word is a bi product of humanities dissension. There is this story in the Bible about the Tower of Babel where it speaks on the how language was first introduced on planet earth and the chaos that it ensued. Although it is considered a fable, there is much truth to this story, because prior to the spoken or written word, telepathy was the original form of communication. Telepathy is the purest form of exchanging information through ideas,, emotions and memories directly from one person to another without speaking or writing a word. Telepathic transmission is a 4th dimension and beyond mode of communication, it has a higher vibrational frequency than language.

The whole basis of language is manipulation, it is denser and slower vibration than telepathy, and it has traditional been the vehicle of manipulation and disparity among humans. For those who have been able to master language, are usually the ones that holds the most power. Because of the slower and denser vibration of language, so much of the purity, and truth gets lost in translation, and with this, it leaves all users vulnerable to conflict and misunderstanding, and of course, we all know that this is the beginning of the breakdown of relationships This 3rd dimensional frequency that most of us are vibrating on relies heavily on the mental body aspect, and this is why language is so important to many.

Telepathic communications on the other hand bypasses the entire dramatic ridiculouness of deciphering language. There is no decoding; frequencies are read directly from another person. You will begin to understand people’s mental, physical and emotional state. It is not a mental state, from mind to mind as portrayed in ‘Hollywood’. Telepathy is received through the heart chakra that usually has emotional information and mental information as well. The soul mate connection heart to heart connection is extremely intense for a reason. It forces open the Heart Chakra open so that not only the physiological feelings of love can spin through it, but it creates a portal for telepathic communication from mate to mate, then spreading to the greater population.

Telepathic communication is also received through the 7th chakra, our Spirit body, which is a very high vibrational chakra. The mental body does have its place, because it has a deductive, reasonable nd logical. So once information is received in the heart, the mental body can bring understanding to the information.

It makes sense as to why soul mates are becoming the fastest growing group of humans that are tapping in and using their telepathic abilities. Since a part of our mission as soul mates is to create an enlightened and purer template of relationships, it becomes obvious as to why; language would be the first mode of communication to disintegrate. In our soul mate connection, we are learning how to operate from the realm of unconditional love, which is a very high vibration; we are learning just how to create an intention spiritual bond of love, trust, peace, cooperation and compassion with humanity. We are beginning to shake loose all forms of lower vibrational communications that was traditional used in relationships. Telepathy will give us a greater ability to read energy and take that knowledge to create relationships in every form to a higher ground.

so for the mates that believe they have a direct invisible like you each other, you are correct. It’s important to receive that information so that you can build the bridge of density to the spiritual with your mate. This link will grow stronger and more fluent the more you work toward removing emotional and physical impediments. Usually you will find that in these connections, that the mate that is doing the most work at removing the impediment, especially within the emotional body, will have the strongest telepathic transmission. The reason behind this is because the as we remove blocks to our emotional body, we clear a crap load of blockages to our heart chakra, and remember, most of the telepathic information is received through the heart chakra. Also, when we remove blocks to our emotional and physical body, we raise our vibration, and high vibrational frequencies further and quickens the telepathic connections, not only between you and your mate, but with other life forms and other dimensions.

So, again, no, you are not crazy, you are ascending, and some really cool gifts are being bestowed upon us, and this is another case for doing your clearing work, so that we can take this connection to a higher plane.

THE DARK NIGHT OF THE SOUL MATE

Most of you that have been following my writing or shall I say, uncovering of the Soul mate connection, know that my emphasis has been heavily on healing aspect of soul mates, and less about the romantic emotions that this connection conjures up. I am keenly aware of all the emotions, thoughts, sexual yearning and creative energy that are encompassed within this connection. Yet the truth still remains that this a Divine connection, a SOUL connection and the experiencer will experience a series of spiritual, emotional and physiological releases and retrieval that will assist them in reconnecting with the purity of Unconditional love. This process will indeed hone our level of empathy and unfold within us innate ability to create all relationships from the depth and truth of the soul, not merely the personality.

So one of the most important and challenge of this connection is how to increase our illumination quotient, how to become one with the spiritual light of unconditional love. How to increase that light within ourselves so that it will shine so brightly that it becomes a beacon, a refuge for others that are struggling with their own illusion of darkness. This is very important work, so please do not overlook this, actually, you cannot overlook this because this is what you were born to do; at this special time in history.

This connection requires ALL o our attention, patience, endurance and as much maturity we can mustard up. As the pure force of Unconditional love sweeps through every level of every crevice, nook and cranny of our being-ness. Oh boy will it challenge you. The force is loving, methodical sand chastening all at once.

This connection will make spiritual light very real to us. It will show us, little by little that there is no ‘darkness’ of the soul, that it we are all light. This connection will surely break down our deeply held belief in ‘other-ness”, and burst our hearts wide open so that we can make room for the truth of One-ness. Unconditional Love will bring us to the resound truth that it was our error in thought that caused us pain, it will show us how our other-ness mentality is the culprit of our horrible feelings of abandonment, worthlessness, and victimization. We will KNOW that there is only light and only love.

The deep, rich and ‘float on air’ feeling of this connection is just the prelude of the excavation. If you are doing the work and allowing the process to teach you, you will be less enticed by the euphoria, but more interested in keeping a steady eye, listening ear and open heart of the mystical transformation that is taking place within. You will ask where is God in all of this? Where is love in my anger, frustration, jealous and anxiety? Where is the truth amongst the many lies I bought into? And finally, How can I be a giver and receiver of Grace? Yes, this shit is deep and absolutely no joke, so its time that we stop playing on sacred ground.

Again, do the work. Do not be afraid of the darkness, because in truth, it is merely your shadow revealing itself to you, so that you can eventually see the light. Try not to get caught up in the manmade version of love and romance, but allow Spirit to show you the truth of deep, empathic bonding where your illumination will glare out all deception and transform you into the very power of Love.

Soul Mates who Run, Soul Mates who Stay

The Soul Mates connection is based on energy, a compatible energy force that takes it cues from each mates vibration output. The quicker we as Soul Mates come to this level of understanding, the sooner we will stop suffering, manipulating and focusing our attention on our soul’s purpose.

The soul mate connection is a Higher level of energy. An energy that most of us an are not accustom to working with. It is an extremely powerful connection, especially in the case of Twin Flames, soul mates of the highest order. Most time when we enter this energy, we are still carrying low vibrational beliefs, emotional patterns and behaviors that will serious disrupt the flow of the energy, a ‘fail safety mechanism’ has been incorporated within our bond. This fail safe mechanism is simply a vibrational compatibility connection. This vibrational connection keeps both mates safe from truly damaging the connection with our ignorance and indifference to the sacredness of this gift. This connection works like a puzzle. If the pieces don’t match up, then the puzzle cannot come together as a full picture. The same with this mechanism, if the vibrational energies do not line us, then the mates will be kept apart until the work has been done.

I really wanted to speak on the topic of mates who run, and mates who stay, because it is a concept that mates have a very hard time understanding. To define a ‘stayer’ and a ‘runner’ is simply, one or both mates that run from the connection, and the stayer is the one who is supposedly left or forgotten about. This pattern is not only common, it’s a natural phenomenon, and it’s a rarity to have a pair that immediately accept the energy and understand how to work through the energies intensity right away. So if you are experiencing this in your connection, the last thing you need to be is ashamed or guilty, okay.

The Runner

As I had mentioned in previous articles, the soul mate energy is intense, and it’ sole purpose is to purify the energies within each mate so that we can reach a level of understanding of how to function from the Highest place in love and trust in all of our relationship, and in turn, the mates will become exemplifiers for others to emulate. This goal cannot be reached if we as mates are vibrating from a level of fear. As mates, we have reached a level of spiritual maturity where we have the ability to hold more and more spiritual light. Make no mistake, each mate, no matter what it looks like, have earned this ‘status’, if you will. So, Keesha, you may ask, why does my mate do everything in his or her power to keep me at arm’s length? That’s not spiritual maturity, Keesha?” And you are correct!

In this connection, each of the mates are challenged to address both their individual shortcomings and once they come together, they will learn to work as a unit to flow in greater love. There is a common theme among most runners and these are dealing with issues of the feelings of worthlessness, trust and sometimes addiction. It’s not that the runner does not feel the intensity of love for their mates, in their mid, they believe that they are not ‘ready’ or do not have what it takes to be a viable partner to their mates. So it’s not really their mate that is causing them to run, no, actually most runners have safely placed their mates way up on the ‘untouchable’ pedestal; it’s that they do not trust and love themselves enough.

The runner’s challenge is to take steps in understanding how to love and value themselves. They have to learn to change and release the pain from past relationships and learn to trust and improve their relationship with their non-physical guides. Most runners are capable of achieving this, but oftentimes, it’s the ‘stayer’ that stands in the way.

The Stayer

In my practice, I work with mainly stayers, for obvious reasons. In the stayer’s mind, they are the one left holding the bag, if you will. They believe they are the ones who know exactly what their mate needs to do to get their shit together so that they can carry on with their love fest. When I work with stayers, I often find that they are carrying this unconscious victim mentality. They come across as confident and strong, but when we work in a session, we usually uncover issues of abandonment and trust. We find that their mate’s running, triggers those abandonment issues, issues that they have pushed down years prior to meeting ‘the one’. This triggering of the abandonment issues, sort of compels the stayer to become forceful, manipulative and mistrusting in their dealing with their mate.

Because those who act out the loudest get the most attention, the stayer begins to make it their mission to ‘make’ their mates see the light. They are missing the whole point of the connection. They are not focusing on their own every painful issue that most definitely need to be addressed before anything can happen. Once the stayer begins to work on their own issues, they will be better able to forgive their mates for their irradict and painful behavior and trust the process of their connection taking form. Until they do, they will continue to grasp at straw in frustration, and become further estranged from the one they love dearly.

In these connections, both the stayer and the runner have psychic and healing abilities, but they cannot be fully tapped into because each mate is either running or acting from an unconscious desperation. Both mates can ease their suffering from this beautiful connection by learning to face their individual fears, and trust the process. Also, do not think you can ‘fool’ this energy into believing you are ready for the coming together, this is an energetic connection, so if the energies don’t fit, you must admit, then aquit!

In Conclusion

The soul mate connection is indeed a beautiful gift, and has an important purpose, but it’s energy automatically repels lower vibrational thoughts and behaviors from the bond. Bothe runner and the stayer are challenged to address their fears, discover and embrace their strength in order for this connection to properly come together in its own form. Keep doing the work, and trusting that all really is well, I love you all

WHY SOUL MATES FIGHT

Soul mates are now coming together at an increasing rate, like never before. This coming together is no fluke or accident, but it is due to the rising vibrational frequency of the planet that is forcing like frequency vibrational people, placing and things to gravitate towards each other. This gravitational pull is serving a higher purpose, and this purpose is to quicken humanity to a healthier and whole state. Humanity has done a ‘banged up’ job thus far, but the evolutionary process popularly coined ‘ascension’ is offering us another opportunity to align all things from the standpoint of a Higher consciousness perspective.

Soul mates play a pivotal role in the spiritual evolutionary process. We as soul mates hold the greatest potential to amass and disseminate spiritual light and to correct the dysfunctional inherited relationship template of previous generations. Soul mates, as they begin to connect with their higher self will create a healthier and wholesome template for relationships throughout humanity. This is a very tll order for some, but it is a process that has already been set into motion.

Traditional Relationship mode

The traditional relationship modality severely leaves out the high spiritual qualities such as unconditional love, compassion, sharing, cooperation, humility and reverence. It has mostly been an institution of control, manipulation and garnering material goods and external power. The traditional relationship has become a perpetuation of disparity and pain that has etched its way deep down into our cellular DNA and has imprinted itself in our emotional and ethereal bodies. The traditional relationship modality is the original weapon of mass destruction.

The Transitional Stages

Without a doubt, if you have come into the soul mate energy, be it that you have connected with your Twin Flame or your Vibrational Soul Mate, you have earned this connection. You have put in some amount of spiritual growth that has afforded you this highly Divine status, but this does not mean you can now rest on your laurels. This mean s you are now ready to focus ALL of your attention on correcting the impediments that have and will prevent you from connecting with your Higher Self, and reaching your highest potential as a spiritually evolving human being.

Salutation of the Spirit

So how does this connection with our soul mates evolve us spiritually? See, outside our conscious awareness, this beautiful, exciting man or woman slips into our frontal view. They make no loud announcement, but suddenly everything shift and comes alive inside of us. This overwhelming feel of emotions we term ‘love’ literally intoxicate us. This is what I term the ‘Salutations of the Spirit’. It’s a coming home of spiritual lovers, a recognition of each other at a Soul level.

The Acquaintance Period

What’s known to follow this Salutation is ‘the acquaintance’ period. You and your beloved begin to get to know each other, validate compatibility, and the strengthening of the ethereal bond. This period is absolutely euphoric, and feels like infatuation, but it’s is NOT, it is not merely an insatiable ‘liking’, it’s a deep soul satisfying spiritual love bond.

The bond accelerates as the days go by. The magnetic pull towards each other is extremely intense and mind boggling to most, because here they are in love with a complete stranger, that may live half way across the world or country, yet they are not a stranger, they are as familiar to you as an extension of your body. Now in comes the ‘struggle period’.

The Struggle Period

This is the period when things get really ugly! During this period, soul mates try their best to force their understanding of how a relationship is suppose to take form., but they find that they cannot apply the old relationship formats to a spiritual union. The old relationship format is incompatible to one of the spiritual. The old format demands that we apply low vibrational behaviors and thinking to MAKE a union take form, and the spiritual union excludes this application.

See, the soul mate energy deals only in love, truth and higher consciousness, and it repels any energetic pattern that does not include these higher qualities. So when soul mates force the old relationship application to the Higher Consciousness or Unconditional love application, you literally repel a each other. No force or manipulation tactics on the earthly or ascended realm will bring the two of you together as long as you continue to relate to one another from a low vibrational energy field.

The Soul Mate Shuffle

The soul mate energy, during the initial coming together, main concern is to force you to connect with your Higher Self, and to begin to emanate Higher spiritual qualities. This process is done energetically. If one or both soul mates are vibrating at a low energetic level, then you will repel each other. The love will still remain, the bond will still remain, but your frequency will not match. This infrequency serves a higher purpose. It forces each soul mate into their individual ‘corners’, so that they can focus on discovering, and correcting the emotional and behavior dysfunctional patterns. Say you are a male with issues of insecurity and self worth and your beloved is a smart, very beautiful and spiritually assured woman. Without her ‘doing’ anything ‘to’ you, just her presence will ignite your emotional and behavioral pattern. You may try to bully her or make her jealous by giving your attention to other women or activities. Your beloved will see right through this and will pull herself away. The intensity of the males lower vibrational tactics will hurt the both of them so deeply that they will need a break to understand what is happening. Now the similar pattern can be found in women as well, but the main idea of this is to show that the dance is one of energy and vibration. And it may take some time for each or both of the individuals to realize just how they manipulate, control, enable or bully in relationships. Once that realization happens, they must try to correct these impediment within self.

You would think, during this intense dance that the couples would split apart forever, never to see that ‘evil person’ again. But nope, the magnetic pull does not easily go away, and for good reason. The pull forces us to keep moving forward in our own spiritual development. Remember, the goal of this energy is to get you to connect with your Higher Self, and to emanate Higher Spiritual qualities. It can careless about how long it takes, our sexual yearns, or that our biological clock is ticking. All else outside of spiritual growth is secondary.

This shuffle will continue until each person does the work on healing and correcting individually. Each person’s issues vary, but they usually compliment the others issues. For example, you may be an award winning enabler, and you find that your beloved has issues of accountability and self worth. So therefore, just like a lock and key, when YOU work out your dysfunction, our beloved has no choice but to shift into the healthier energetic ‘lock’. BUT the problem comes in when we take the focus off of our growth and start analyzing and blaming our beloved as the one with the problem, therefore, back into the ‘corner’ we go until we get it right.

The soul mate energy is here to dismantle the ridiculously painful and highly dramatic relationship patterns of the past. It’s spiritual in nature, so it CAN NOT be approached from a physical standpoint. This connection serves a Higher Purpose to heal you and heal humanity. It is your soul work, you did not stumble upon this, you signed up for this, or it would not be happening! So your best bet is to buckle down, cut the crap and get to work. As Spirit to reveal to you what you need healing the most, and the Law of Attraction will bring to you circumstances, and people to assist you, but they cannot do the work for you. 5 PRINICPLES F SELF LOVE

Sometimes we find ourselves in very chaotic and dysfunctional positions in our lives, and we may go to a friend or an elder for direction and support, and it seems without fail, they’d give advice along the lines that echoes, “well, you need to love yourself more.” It sounds right, so keep quiet and listen, but all the while we are trying to conceptualize in our minds, well what is self love? I don’t hate myself, so what is it that they are seeing in me that shows that I m not loving myself?

Self love is such a vast arena, and it means specific things to each person. But to simplify this very broad subject, what I can say that pertains to all of us in self love, is that it is not just merely a feeling of love for oneself, but it’s an ACT.

Let’s look at the definition of love and all that it takes to sustain a loving relationship. It takes five Principles for love to be maintained:

1. The ability to TRUST; to trust that what maybe occurring in our love one’s life has a Divine purpose, so we trust the unfoldment process.

2.The ability to ALLOW; The ability to allow people to choose what’s best for them, even if it means they choose not to be in our lives anymore.

3.The ability to ACCEPT: The ability to accept the path that they take, even if it appears to be self destructive to us.

4.The ability to be KIND; To be kind, even when we are still judging and discerning what is going on.

5.The ability to have FAITH; faith in the ability that people can change in more positive ways.

These are examples of what we aspire to give in a relationship with others. Now in the case of loving oneself, all we do is turn these outward acts and expressions of loving for someone else onto ourselves.

Self love is all about the way we behave towards ourselves to help make our lives more productive, healthy and peaceful. For example, say if you have recently come into the awareness that you are living too far above your means. You are tired of paying for a lifestyle that no longer serves you. So you decide to let go of the unnecessary things in your life. By doing this, your life becomes less stressful, and you are able to make room for to include more activities, people and situations that truly represent you.

By committing these acts of self love you are applying the 5 principles in making your decision. One; you are Trusting that making the change to reducing your overhead cost in your lifestyle is going to bring a positive outcome for you, even though you have no tangle proof that it will. Two;Allowing yourself the room to make that change knowing that you may initial have some difficulties letting go of things you have grown accustomed to, or allowing yourself to feel the emotions of choices that you made that lead up to this now overburdened lifestyle. Three; Acceptingthat however these changes turn out is for your highest good. Four; Kindness, not to beat ourselves up for choices we have made in the past or for not instantly growing use to the said changes. Five; Faith in by making this change it can now be a permanent way of being, so that you no longer allow yourself to live out of your personal integrity.

So in a nutshell, self love is all about taking action in your life in the areas that you can control. To no longer allow ourselves to be set up to feel and be victimized by life’s circumstances. Little by little, we can make these changes and begin to feel better and live by standards that are uniquely our own. This will enable us to love others in more expansive ways because we are taking care of ‘home first’.
