SOUL MATES BALANCING FOR A GREATER PURPOSE

The Soul Mate connection is absolutely incredible. The loving energy that flows between the couple is very strong and undeniable. There is a magnetic pull that keeps the two hearts together even when physically apart.

There is this aliveness that courses through your veins that is inspirational and delightful. You want to be a better person, you want to just turn yourself inside out for this person because there are no words to explain the love you feel for them. Some cannot understand the draw, the yearning for someone who you would have otherwise overlooked. This can be a maddening existence.

This electricity that flows between soul mates in the initial stages of them coming together is what I like to call the serenade of the souls. This is the stage when two people fall in love with one another, but not from a physical attraction, but on a soul level.

The source that animates this bond is the powerful energy of Unconditional Love; and the binding of two people on this level comes from none other than the intentions and the love potential that lives within each of them. These individuals that are coming together have reached a level of spiritual maturity where they have already invested many years of seeking, reading and reflecting on their spiritual path. Most are already Light Workers with a strong drive to serve humanity. They are beautiful creative souls eager to experience love, cooperation and fulfillment on a deep level. Unconditional love drew these two people together synergistically because they both share a common spiritual bond and they have the ability to hold greater spiritual light and are now ready to transition into fulfilling a greater purpose together.

The energy of Unconditional Love that elevates the vibrational frequency of soul mates is not dictated by our hunger for sex, money and security. The only concern of Unconditional love is to place love in its rightful place and that’s back in the hearts of man.

Oftentimes when soul mates find one another, they immediately conjure up in their minds this great big perfect love affair. Because they have never felt a love so powerful for another, they assume that once they connect with ‘the one’, that it’s smooth sailing from there. But when these expectations are not fulfilled and one or both of them begin to reveal dysfunctional habits or fears. This beautiful relationship begins to breakdown.

But what if I told you that the soul mate relationship has a greater purpose other than the ‘let’s play house’ game. What if I told you that the chaos and dysfunction are the catalyst that forces couples to release issues that disrupts the natural flow of love, and delivers them to their purpose. One soul mate couple that comes to mind is the late Bill W. and Lois Burnham W. the cofounders of Alcoholics Anonymous, and Al Anon Family Groups.

Bill came from a broken family background and had a painful childhood, whereas Lois came from a loving home with parents that adored each other and their children. When Bill and Lois met, Lois was not interested in Bill in a romantic way. He was older and ‘not her type’, but over time they fell in love and got married. Shortly after marrying, Bill went away to serve as in the military while Lois found work, preparing her home for the big loving family she has so hoped to enjoy with Bill.

Neither one of them could have imagined the very difficult times that had ahead of them. While in the military, Bill began drinking heavily and his reputation suffered terribly, so much so that when he came home he could not find work to support him and his wife because word got out how heavily he drank and how irresponsible he had become.

Lois was shocked to find out that her quiet and upstanding husband abused alcohol. When he came home from the war, she found herself the breadwinner of the family because Bill was too drunk to keep a job.

They made four attempts at starting a family, only ending in miscarriages, Lois was devastated! They spent two years without a home of their own, living with family and friends because they never had enough money to own a home of their own.
Bill hit the bottom with his addiction to alcohol and stopped drinking through the help of a spiritually- based alcohol recovery group that he and fellow recovering alcoholic, Dr. Bob later revamped into AA (Alcoholics Anonymous).

Lois on the other hand continued to have a difficult time with the whole ordeal. Bill had humiliated her with his drinking and not being able to support her as her parents had done. She was crushed by not being able to have the big happy family she envisioned, and now that her husband was a sober man, she resented his tireless efforts to help other alcoholics get sober.

Life turned around for the couple when Bill suggested to Lois that she should start a group for families and loved ones affected by the disease of alcoholism. Lois slowly released her resentment towards Bill as she learned about the disease and opened herself to helping other suffering families.

The soul mate relationship has a greater plan and purpose than we can barely imagine. When we let go of our expectations on the direction this union will go and open ourselves up to love’s ways, wonderful things can happen. Although Bill and Lois never had children of their own, they helped many families heal through the fellowship of AA and Al Anon. And, before their death, they were able to finally have a home of their own.

The energy of soul mate love first heals the pains and dysfunction between the duo, enabling their spiritual light to shine. Their light and clarity of vision paves the way for them to serve each other, their families and their communities with greater love and effectiveness. Just let go, open your hearts with love and compassion, allow Spirit to guide you.
