Soul Mate Relationships Must Be Earned!

If you are reading this article, then you already understand that relationships from a spiritual point of view are a gift from the Divine that assists us in our spiritual evolution in becoming and experiencing the fullness of love for ourselves, each other and the Divine. Relationships provide us the perfect playground to act out all of our “issues”. Because each of us have come to this life to learn, balance or master various dimensions of love, you will find that each person and each relationship is unique, yet equally important to the development of all that is involved.

As one begins to awaken to the truth that we are spiritual beings having a human experience, and we become mindful and diligent in growing spiritually, a shift will take place both in our relationship with ourselves and others. We will become less tolerant and willing to participate in behaviors and mindsets that do not support our awakened spirits. In old biblical terms, we become unequally yoked. Eventually we must make choices, and in some instances, choices will be made for us in regards to whether or not we will leave the relationships or make the necessary change to support the transformation of it.

As of late, what I am finding is that, a great number of us walking our spiritual paths have made the choice to leave relationships where our partners, for one reason or another, refuses to awaken spiritually. We begin to feel this very deep and compelling yearning within ourselves to find that spiritual complement that we believe will loves us for the rest of our days and support us in our journey. We believe that we are now ready to find our soul mates! But have we really earned it? Yup, earned it!

As above so below, was the Universal wisdom imparted to us by Jesus the Christ. What does this mean and what in the world does it have to do with the soul mate relationship? Absolutely everything!

Jesus’ wisdom revealed one of the most important spiritual laws of creation. It states that all things must be done in consciousness before it can be manifested in the material. All things, from manifesting a home, a car, even your soul mate relationship. It takes much more than having the sheer desire to live in bliss with your beloved, it takes work!

The work that is involved in attracting and maintaining a soul mate connection is not work from the ego that drives us to search outwardly for our mates. This work has nothing to with making ourselves look more attractive, smart or wealthier. This ego-based hunter-gatherer style of finding a mate no longer serves the person who is seeking to evolve spiritually, and it most certainly will not work in finding your spiritual complement. ALL work must be done in the spirit, in order for one to attract and maintain a soul mate connection. So how does one work from the spirit in attracting our soul mate? Well I am here to tell you!

The first thing that must be done is what I like to call, the inner assessment. No one and I mean no one leaves or enters a relationship without carrying some type of belief system about love and relationships. Taking an inner assessment will reveal to you just what those belief systems are. If you are honest, you will find that most of your beliefs about love and relationships are not your own and/or they do not support the unconditional love that is required in a spiritual connection such as soul mate relationships.

The next step that one must take is what I termed, the recalibration. Most of us were attracted to the spiritual path because it affords us the freedom to learn, think and create from a place that is most natural for our unique experience. As we walk the path and slowly shed false beliefs about love and relationships, what emerges from us is an inner directive that enables us to view love and relationships from a higher vantage point. From this view, love and relationships are no longer a game of cat and mouse, one begins to take attributes like character, integrity, fidelity, and honest seriously. In the recalibration step, we replace passed down beliefs and fears about love and relationships, and replace them with spiritual attributes that flow more to the side of unconditional love.

Once you have done the first two clearing steps, the third step is what I call making the give and take list. If you were anything like me, you ran screaming like my hair was on fire from my previous relationships. I believed I was keenly aware of what I did and did not want from a soul mate relationship. I immediately made my lists of qualities that I sought out in a partner, but back then, I was only half way on the mark with this step. In making the give and take list, we not only have to make a list of attributes that we would like in a partner, we must also make a list of the qualities and attributes that we can bring to the relationships as well. Would I like to be a partner to you…forever? Are you ready, willing, able to do what it takes to evolve in this special bond? Do you understand the seriousness of this connection as it relates to your evolution?

When all three steps, the inner assessment, the recalibration and the give and take list, are complete, the final thing to do is to let it go and trust that your soul mate will enter into your reality. There is absolutely no need to get all gushy up to go to the gas station or grocery store ‘just in case’ you bump into ‘the one.’ No need to search high or low for them. Let the Universe deliver the goods. Besides, no amount of physical adjustments will really make the difference, your soul mate will know recognize you from a spiritual recognition not physical, so relax about it!

While you are waiting for your special delivery, it would serve you and your partner good if you continue to challenge any false belief systems about love and relationships as they rise from your subconscious. Manifesting and meeting your mate is not the end all to be all in your evolution, because relationships, even soul mate relationships are designed to assist you in your evolution on the path, you must be diligent about dismantling beliefs of all nature of a lower vibration in all phases of your relationships.

Although this work can shake us up either a little or to our core, keep in mind that this is what it take evolve on the spiritual path. Your reward is not just a beautiful, loving mate, your reward is actually a beautiful loving you!
